Etymology: Latin jocosus, from jocus joke

I hear people use jocular more often than jocose.

    I would be overjoyed to hear either one; I read "jocose" only because high school students A. associate "jocular" with "jock" and B. are addicted to thesaur... thesauruses. Thesauri. That sounds so wrong. o_o
